Driving Clinical Breakthroughs: AGIBOT Endoscopic Surgical System Debuts at the 2026 East China Urological Surgery Academic Conference


From August 7 to 9, the 2026 East China Urological Surgery Academic Conference and the 26th Academic Conference of Urological Surgery of the Jiangsu Medical Association took place in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province.



Hosted by the Jiangsu Medical Association and its Urological Surgery Society, the event was co-organized by the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University, The First People's Hospital of Changzhou , and The Second People's Hospital of Changzhou. Bringing together leading urologists and scholars from across China, the conference focused on exploring future discipline trajectories and accelerating the translation of clinical innovation into practice.


At the opening ceremony, He Xiaoqian, Party Secretary of the Changzhou Health Commission, and Zhang Xu, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered opening remarks. They emphasized discipline building, innovation-driven growth, and a high-quality academic ecosystem, highlighting the strategic importance of sustained clinical translation in urological technology.

The company hosted a dedicated academic symposium and maintained an interactive exhibition booth, engaging in deep exchanges with urologists, hospital executives, and industry partners.

On August 8, during the dedicated symposium titled Progress in the Application of Domestic Surgical Systems in Urology, Professor Huang Yuhua from The First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University shared clinical data and representative cases based on his department's hands-on experience with the AGIBOT system.

Since initiating clinical applications in late December 2025, the AGIBOT system had completed 175 procedures at the hospital by late July 2026, with 162 in urology—accounting for over 90% of total cases. As surgical proficiency increased and procedural scope expanded, monthly procedures grew from single digits initially to 31 cases per month in both June and July, marking a transition into stable, routine clinical adoption.


In terms of case distribution, renal tumors and prostate cancer together accounted for 78.9% of the volume, fully covering core indications for urological robotic surgery. Across all 175 procedures, there were no conversions to open surgery, intraoperative blood transfusions, or severe postoperative complications, preliminarily confirming the AGIBOT system's safety and efficacy in complex real-world clinical scenarios.



Prof. Huang also analyzed three representative cases to demonstrate the system's performance across varied procedures: a radical prostatectomy for a 73-year-old prostate cancer patient requiring deep pelvic dissection and precise anastomosis; a partial nephrectomy for a right mid-pole renal tumor measuring approximately 4.8 cm (RENAL score 10) requiring complete tumor excision and high-quality parenchymal reconstruction; and a ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO) reconstruction for a patient with a 5-year history of severe hydronephrosis.All three surgeries were successfully performed. The AGIBOT system demonstrated reliable clinical performance across key parameters, including imaging clarity, articulation flexibility, and suturing precision.


Reflecting on the development path, Prof. Huang highlighted his long-term involvement with the AGIBOT system since its early R&D phases, where he provided clinical insights on tactile feel, instrument architecture, and workflow design. From preclinical animal studies to human clinical application, surgical feedback has continuously driven product iterations. This closed-loop model (Clinical Feedback→Engineering Optimization→Surgical Application) ensures that domestic surgical robotics truly address real-world clinical needs.




Prof. Huang commended AGIBOT's demand-driven engineering philosophy, highlighting its rapid R&D responsiveness and iteration velocity. He noted that the long-term advancement of domestic surgical robotics relies not only on core technological breakthroughs, but also on building an innovation model deeply integrated with clinical practice to address genuine surgeon and patient needs.


Sustained Clinical Innovation: AGIBOT Demonstrates Domestic Robotics Momentum


Alongside the academic session, The AGIBOT Endoscopic Surgical System was showcased at the conference booth. Numerous urologists tested the console, discussing ergonomic feedback, instrument configurations, and clinical adaptation across diverse surgical scenarios with the engineering team.


From real clinical cases discussed at the symposium to hands-on demonstrations at the exhibition booths, the discussions on domestic surgical robots ultimately returned to clinical practice itself. Exchanges spanned complex partial nephrectomy anatomical access, tactile feedback for nerve-sparing radical prostatectomy, and system response during unexpected intraoperative bleeding. Following hands-on trials, several surgeons remained at the booth to discuss system performance, clinical customization, and future academic collaboration.



Through this conference, AGIBOT strengthened its collaborative network with clinical leaders and industry partners, reflecting growing confidence in the adoption of domestic surgical robots.
